 To note, this review was made on November of last year, so I archive my review that I done on Twitter/X under @sweetochabear. I created this Post to do some polishing up and I will do the same for all of them except for Vol 8 and onwards.  I’ll still discuss it on Twitter/X, but I’ll post it on here too as well as 🦋. I feel bad I been neglecting my 🦋 account. 😅😅😅

Even though this will be the refine version, I’m going to try keep what I originally said on Twitter/X as much as I can but just fix any spelling errors or grammatical mistakes.  So if you wonder what “LN” is, is the abbreviation for Light Novel. On to the discussion.

Vol 2 of the LN was way better than Ep. 5 and 6 of the Anime hands down.

 Even though reading it made me want to re-watch Ep. 6, I love how they Animate the Scene where Challe and Anne reunite after Anne told Challe to leave. I can only image how the readers who read the LN before the Anime were excited seeing that part get Animated too.

Moments like this makes me want to read the main source material before watching its adaptation.  Because of the excitement seeing what you read getting adapted. I would be squealing in joy seeing it get animated.  For my case and probity a lot of people we got it backwards, when I read it again I thought…

“That was adapted in the Anime! 🫢💗” 

🧚🏻‍♂️Anime and LN differences: 

🍎 Anne staying at Huge’s castle was never feature in the Anime. 🫢

🍎 Jonas and his gang had more showcase in the LN over how much screen time they got in the Anime. (If you think they were awful in the Anime, get ready to grid your Teeth reading this Volume and feeling bad for Cathy. 😭)

🍎 Ep. 5 of Sugar Apple Fairy Tale is an Anime only exclusive episode.   

Since Kat was only mention in this Volume,  he never made an appearance at all in Volume 2.  So if Kat is one of your favorite Characters in Sugar Apple Fairy Tale , you won’t see him in Vol 2.  I can’t speak for future Volumes or even the Manga (which I feel I need to get). Maybe Kat will show up in Vol 3.

On the subject relating to the Manga it’s been hunting me in wanting to get it out of curiosity.  I hope the Manga stays faithful to the LN and not the Anime. Because I would LOVE to see this scene in the Manga. 

How Keith was in this is 💕

Jonas and Anne’s Rivalry was really good in Volume 2 except for what he did in the Village when Anne was trying to sell Sugar Confectionery. That was really low.  ( *｀ω´)

Next up is Vol 3 of Sugar Apple Fairy Tale.  I’m looking forward to how this arch turns out, since after this Volume will be Vol 4 which is going to focus on the Paige workshop.  Despite it has a lot of angst, the Paige workshop Arch is as of writing this is one my favorite Arch in the Series because Anne and Challe’s feelings for each other highlight a lot in it.

After reading and re-reading Vol 1 of Sugar Apple Fairy Tale LN, I can’t recommend enough that you really need to read the LN before watching the Anime if you were planning too. 

I first got into Sugar Apple Fairy Tale from watching the Anime.  I did a live Tweet rant about it last year, but I didn’t # on it. So if your like me and watch the Anime before reading ether the LN or Manga.  A lot of your answers that boggle your mind on will be solved in the LN.

As of doing this review I haven’t read the Manga, so I will be referring to only LN Anne and Anime Anne. Which there’s a lot I want to talk about with both Annes but mostly with LN Anne. I felt bad for Anime Anne at first, but I also felt bad for her even more in the LN.

🍎Challe isn’t the only one who called Anne, Scarecrow. 

In the Anime it came off to me at lease that Challe was the only one that always called Anne “Scarecrow”. But to correct myself in the Anime even both Sub and Dub Jonas called Anne a Scarecrow.  While in the LN, Anne was called Scarecrow threw out her Childhood and Adolescence years, prior to meeting Challe.  

🍎 From reading the LN, what shock me to find out in Knoxberry Village, Jonas was very popular with the ladies. 😮

Before finding out Jonas’s true colors in the Anime, I really like him as a Character.  I thought their might been a possible Love Triangle going on between him and Challe,  both Anime and Light Novel Jonas’s actions was more Petty than just being a jerk.   He deserves that Slap both in the LN and Anime for how he did Anne. Though his actions for why he did what he already done is even more painful in the LN since LN Anne was already an Insecure person on the down-low. 

So to know that Jonas wanted her because she is the Daughter of a Silver Sugar Artisan and wanted Anne to be a Ghost-Artisan for him is a gut puncher that proves her Insecurities are true.

Even though at the moment Anne wasn’t thinking about how right she was on it and assume Jonas wants to marry her out of pity.  And Anne openly admit that she didn’t even have feelings for Jonas, she personally want to pursuit in being a Silver Sugar Master like Emma. But at the end Anne realized she copy Emma’s work to win the Royal Candy Fair like Jonas did (but more stole it then copy it. But is kinda the same.) which she came to realized that she need to find her own Style.

Re-watching Episode 1 again a year later, after finish reading the LN.  I got a better understanding about the setting then questioning on things while I enjoying binge watching. 😅

Anime Anne’s insecurities in the Anime was only from the surface level. 😳

I also really love Challe much more in the LN over the Anime. 💗

I’m looking forward to reading more volumes of the LN and I hope Anne will find out there is a “certain someone” who will love to marry a Scarecrow like her. 😊

I’m off reading Vol 2.  I’m so excited to know about Kat in the LN. I wonder if he’s gonna be like how he is in the Anime or a bit different? 

🩷 First Blog Post

  I felt is proper to do a first Blog post.  The reason why I decided to create a Blog is to keep an archive of my discussions that I made on Twitter/X and my Insta that I’m keeping a secret on for now since some Otome I made reviews on I want to re-review it. 

So if you question or wondering if you ever recalled me Discussing any Otome I done on Twitter/X, I haven’t except for Tengoku struggles. 😅

Anyway I hope you’ll enjoy reading through the reviews and discussions, all spelling errors and grammatical mistake will be fix.  I’ll still post it on Twitter/X before posting on here since is fair.  💕
