Character deep dive: Why I feel bad for Bridget Paige ...

Regardless if you read Sugar Apple Fairy Tale first or watch the Anime, your first introduction to Bridget would be…

Well…

Not the best description to say about her. 😅

But after reading Volume 3 thru 6 of the LN I start to feel bad for Bridget, especially LN Bridget.  If you haven’t watch Episode or read Volume 5 thru 6 then you will get spoiled as you read on.

My reason for why I started to feel bad for Bridget is because nobody ever cares about her feelings and/or desires.    Not even her own Dad gives a care about her feelings or desires but just what would benefit the Paige workshop.   Even when Bridget said she didn’t know who’s Daughter she is anymore after finding out Challe’s wing has gone missing.   I can’t blame her for feeling this way,  how can you proudly say you're the Child of the Paige workshop, when there’s a thievery going on in your establishment and you feel nonchalant about it.    Even if it was just a Fairy Wing is still unsettling.

 (I can only image how Challe feels at this moment when he found out his Wing got missing.)

So Bridget acting how she acted was very valid, I probity would be mad and crying too if I never had a say in what I want for myself.  The only place Bridget can “have it her way” is going to Subway.  Not only she’ll eat fresh but she will get how she want on her Sub, ether toasted or cold, how much or less toppings she wants, and even get to choose what Cookie or Chips she want.  But in the SAFT universe they don’t have a Subway, but you can make a basic Sandwich how ever you want if you go to the Market. I could say Chipotle too, but some Chipotle establishment can be stingy on how much rice they give you and that Video of the Woman leaping over to make her own Bowl will tell you that Subway is king in having your own way, even if Chipotle is “finger licking good”. ( Sorry for throwing in a bunch of humor on here for a serious matter.  😅🤣) 

Due to that Bridget decided to use her power to get what she yearn for and that’s to get Challe from Anne, and get the affection that she wanted from Challe that she wouldn't get from Elliott.  Even though Bridgette and Elliott never had feelings for each other, but the desire that Bridget wanted something that she couldn't grasp or was demolish. Like her dream to be Sugar Crafter along side with Orland was shatter due because Mr. Paige told her that she is the daughter of the Maestro. 

But how Bridget treated Challe, she put him in a disservice.  Especially keeping Challe after she and Elliot get married if Anne lost the bet.   I’m not a Man, but if I was in Elliott's shoes and I see my Fiancée  lounging on to a very attractive Fairy who’s the same sex as me I would but cautious too.  

In Mr. Paige’s defense I also understand where he’s coming from too.  Without admitting it Mr. Paige didn’t want Bridget to go through so much to be a Sugar Crafter and felt it was best she was in a higher position.  I mean look what happen to Anne and Jonas in Vol 3 and in Episode 11 of the Anime.  If Bridget was ether in Anne or Jonas’s position and sadly experience what they endure in that Episode and in Vol 3,  Bridget might want to take back her title being the Daughter of the Maestro.  (Or maybe not, some people will still go after what they want even if they have to threw Heck and back to get it. )

Then after Anne won in getting Challe back, Bridget went to get another Fairy who ended up being Challe’s brother and he harm one of Orlando’s Eye.  Which Bridget had a lot of guilt from it that if she never bought Gladys, Orlando wouldn’t gotten his Eye hurt.  Which I understand how that feel and I'm my own worst enemies in Guilt tripping myself on things, but even the things I guilt myself over isn't my fault most of the times. 

Thankfully Orlando didn’t make it felt it was the end of his world for what happen to him, even though he lost an Eye but he can still make Sugar confectionary and in Vol 8 Orland got to be part of the Team to help train Sugar Fairies to become Crafters.  I don’t know how things are going to play out but I hope LN Bridget and LN Mr. Paige can talk things out.  Or maybe Anne can suggest to Bridget to come work for her and Bridget can be Anne’s apprentice in learning how to be a Silver Sugar Master.   Or maybe Orlando could ask Bridget’s hand in marriage.  Aside from AnneXChalle, I ship Bridget and Orlando together.
