My take
Taisho-Alice is not a New Otome game, it was first launch on PC in 2015 including episodes in-between gap Months for the Episode set. While Taisho-Alice all in one was release a year and a half later on PC, then years after that it start to release it’s physical copy on the PS Vita and now on the Nintendo Switch.
I never play Taisho-Alice on PC but playing it on the Switch is a very Unique experience and it can also be a learning curve for the Button settings. Which I feel spoiled in a good way, because if you’re not using a Walk-threw to play Otome games and you’re in a reck because you got to start a new game because you didn’t save at the right save point. Like if your playing games like Hakuoki, Code; Realized, CollarXMalice, or any Visual Novel that has a lot of Chapters or is Very Plot heavy. Having to go back to square one will be a living Nightmare. But you won’t have to live that Nightmare because you can just press the ZL button and rewind where you last pick the option, like your watching a Home-movie.
I really love this feature and I have’t seen anything like this from all the Otome games that I had play as of yet. But again the Controller settings are a Learning curve, if you want to use the auto play button, it won’t be the ZR button but the Minus button on the Switch controller.
To share from my personal experience playing Taisho-Alice, this is one of those Otome games where you really shouldn’t finish this game in under a week. Even if is a Page-turner or for Visual Novel case a Route tuner because you want to know what happens next. And I haven’t felt that way about an Otome game util I played Kitty Love, Birushana, and Kuroyuki’s route in Nightshade.
To say the lease once you completed Snow White’s route and Unlock Wizard’s route just drop the game and come back to playing it in one year or maybe half a Year. 😅
Until then go and try to complete your Otome or Gaming Back log, or Study up to improve your Second, Third, or what ever number Language that your studying, or If you have a Book Backlog maybe you can finish a Book that you had ment to get back into but your life been so hectic, or if really just can’t wait for an entire year then wait until 4 months to play Wizard’s route like all the PC players back in 2015 have.
The reason why I say that is because when you play Wizard’s route is going to give you recaps of all the routes you play in Episode 1, 2, and 3 and is going to be a very Boring and tedious experience playing his Route because you already know what you know that happen in all the Routes and you don’t need a refresher.
My entire play-tru of doing Wizard’s route I was pressing the B button like I was playing Taiko no Tatsuji, thinking
I know, I know, tell me something I don’t know-.😑
Oh….😮
OH…..!🫢😱
And you will have those moments when you play Wizard’s route. Your going have moments where you already know this and your going to have moments where you didn’t see this coming and you will get even more of a double shock factor when you get to the Epilogue and once you finish the entire game you want to re-play some of the routes to look back on things that you miss or didn’t see coming when you play those routes the first time.
Which I praise the Writer or Team who work on the Narrative of Taisho-Alice because it will put you in a Loop-Hole. I could go on and on talking about how the Team working on the Narrative, cause is so creative and cleaver but I will be taking you guys into Spoiler territory.
All I can say is I wish Wizard’s Route didn’t have so much Re-cap reminders but it makes a lot of sense why his Route is like that and if it was change any other way, us Reader will experience a very huge Bomb-shell in the epilogue then to have a build up to it. But when you get close to the end of Wizard’s Route is going to be pretty interesting, that’s all I can say.
Aside from that, the Artwork and the music for TaishoXAlice is beautiful. I got into love solfege because of TaishoXAlice, they’re a Music Unit that also done work for other Otomes.
Route Tier
So I was wrong in assuming Collar X Malice will be an exception for me not ranking it from A to D tier, to give full disclaimer this is how I personally felt about the Route when I first play it in 2023. I’m considering to re-play it again due because I want to go in playing the FD with no fuzzy memories.
Will Happily play this route again
Commentary of Red’s route deserve it’s own post
😅
Will play this route if I'm in the mood
You have to play me $50 bucks to replay this route
I love Gretel in Cinderella’s route, so I was looking forward to playing his route. But when I got to his route the vibe of how I feel from playing it of the song “Chrissy wake up”. But as I go through his route I felt so bad for him.
Yurika Arisu Spotlight Coner
I really enjoy Arisu as a MC, she has a strong personality and I really enjoy her Character even more because of how she loves Alice unconditionally, despite the flaws Alice has and what he went threw. Even how she handle things in every route, she deserve a standing ovation because I would be running for the hills in Gretel’s route. The best Chemistry Arisu has with the LIs I personally feel is Cinderella and Alice.
Overall
I Recommend getting Taisho X Alice or Taisho-Alice if you love
* Plot-Twist
* Fantasy
* Funny Remarks
* A Strong MC
* An Otome Game where you really don’t need to rely heavily on a Walk-thru maybe for Wizard’s and the Epilogue because I was missing a CG in the Epilogue Route and I needed a Walk tru to see what I miss.
I don’t recommenced playing Taisho X Alice or Taisho-Alice if you don’t like
*Plot-Twists
*Yanderes
*Seeing someone ODD-ing themself
*Seeing people going threw Traumatic Hardship,
*if your a person who suffers from DD and trying to over come it.
